NGOMIS is the leading information service for accessing opportunities, building partnerships, and showcasing impact in international development, social impact, and government advisory.
Organizations can access the opportuities through own branded CRM portal, providing information on organization and contacts, grant announcements, and calendar. Besides web access, all resources in the CRM portal are available for export in XLSX, CSV, and markdown formats, with API access.
Enterpise users also get a branded authentication portal with single sign-on (SSO) to the CRM portal, and can bring teams to use the CRM portal.
This article provides a step-by-step guide for onboarding new organizations to the NGOMIS platform, including both Pro and Enterprise subscription types.
1. Before You Register
An organization first signs up in the NGO/MIS website, by clicking 'Login'. It takes you to SocialWell Accounts to signup. The user then can subscribe to either Pro or Enterprise subscription type. Select 'Start trial' or 'Add to cart' to proceed to the onboarding flow.
Before starting the onboarding flow, ensure you have the following:

Step Details
Step 1: Add Organization
User provides:
- Organization Full Name — legal name (e.g. "ACME Foundation")
- Brand Name — 1-2 word identifier (e.g. "acme")
API creates:
- CRM Organization (
{brand-name}) - Onboarding record in database
Step 2: Create Admin
User provides (pre-filled from current user):
- Name, email, mobile number
API:
- Creates admin user with invite email
- Assigns admin role
- Sends invite email to admin
- Sends SMS notification
Step 3: Add Domain
User provides:
- Subdomain (e.g.
crm) - Organization domain (e.g.
acmefoundation.org) Organzation domain is used to create the branded CRM portal URL:https://crm.acmefoundation.org. Admin user can update the logo changes in the CRM portal.
API:
- Registers domain in CRM
- Shows CNAME target (
services.socialwell.net) - Sends email + SMS with DNS setup instructions
Step 4: Verify Domain
- API checks CNAME record via DNS lookup
- Creates Cloudflare custom hostname
- Verifies with CRM
- Checks SSL certificate status
Step 5: Create Auth (Enterprise only)
- User provides SMTP credentials
- Auth Application Account (
{org-name}) created - SMTP configured in account
- SSO client created
- Organization created in auth account
- User added as org member
Step 6: SSO (Enterprise only)
Configures SSO between the Auth Application Account and CRM.
Step 7: Download Credentials
Download an onboarding summary CSV with all credentials:
- Organization details
- SMTP configuration
- Auth account & client info
- CRM IDs
- Admin email
- Portal URL
Once onboarding is complete, the credentials are deleted from the database for security reasons. The CSV is the only copy of the credentials.
